Now in its tenth year, Sunday Shimmyshowcase in Long Beach continues to provide a place where all dancers, regardless of proficiency, can perform in front of a warm, appreciative audience. Performers and guests alike keep returning for the temporary escape from the stress of everyday life into this relaxing and fun environment to explore and enjoy middle eastern inspired dance.

UPCOMING SHOWCASE CALENDAR & DANCER OPPORTUNITIES

May 15 -- Jannah, your coordinator for this program presents another new Shimmyshowcase theme--“Rainbows” with brilliant performances by Meryem Vani and Dalilah, plus two hot male dancers—Siraj and Dauud displaying a full spectrum of bellydance on I-Candy’s magic carpet. This talent is worth a pot of gold, so be sure to join us at I-Candy for an amazing evening of entertainment! Remember, we’re now starting at 6:00 pm, so please mark that on your calendar so you won’t miss a minute of this intriguing program.

May 22 - No Shimmyshowcase—(Gay Pride weekend, which means parking is even worse than usual!)

May 29 -- Shimmyshowcase goes to the Circus with “Under the Big Top.” Saviya is your ringmaster leading a stupendous lineup featuring amazing feats of dance by Nova Kachina, Rebecca, Bella, Anastasia, and Rosé. Our greatest act will be donating all trips received on this evening to “A Place Called Home,” A Place Called Home (http://www.apch.org/) is a safe haven in South Central Los Angeles where underserved youth are empowered to take ownership of the quality and direction of their lives through programs in education, arts, and well-being; and are inspired to make a meaningful difference in their community and the world.

JUNE 5—NO SHIMMYSHOWCASE (CAIRO CARAVAN)

June 12 -- Abraiha will be your coordinator for this Shimmyshowcase, and she welcomes Dreamswirls back to I-Candy’s magic carpet. We welcome other dancers who would like to perform for this Shimmyshowcase; if you’re interested please contact us at Shimmyshowcase@gmail.com.

June 19 – NO SHIMMYSHOWCASE (Fathers’ Day)

June 26 --Xandra presents two ATS Troupes, Mariposa and Elixira. We have openings for another dancer or two, so if you would like to perform for this Shimmyshowcase, please contact us at Shimmyshowcase@gmail.com.

JULY 3—DARK
