Now in its tenth year, Sunday Shimmyshowcase in Long Beach continues to provide a place where all dancers, regardless of proficiency, can perform in front of a warm, appreciative audience. Performers and guests alike keep returning for the temporary escape from the stress of everyday life into this relaxing and fun environment to explore and enjoy middle eastern inspired dance.

UPCOMING SHOWCASE CALENDAR AND DANCER OPPORTUNITIES

July 10 -- Amber Ray will be your coordinator for this Shimmyshowcase, and she welcomes the beautiful Jessica and IrinaXara, and the dashing Siraj. What’s more, her Om Sister (and new mom!) Ilana returns to take a turn on the magic carpet. We know you will enjoy this program, with such superb performers, and hope you can join us for an evening of great belly and middle eastern inspired dance.

July 17 – Saviya returns for another evening of Shimmyshowcase fun, and does she have the entertainment lined up for you! We welcome back Bathsheba, and Meredith with their beautifully executed middle eastern moves and introduce Apadana, and Janelle, both accomplished belly dancers making their Shimmyshowcase debut. PLUS we have a new male dancer Shmuel, visiting us from Hartford, Connecticut! Please be sure to join us for a fabulous evening of entertainment on I-Candy’s magic carpet.

July 24 – Om Sister and Shimmyshowcase coordinator extraordinaire Ilana returns to I-Candy to honcho another showcase for you. Solo dancers Bathsheba and Draca and TribalSooz ATS troupe will work their dance magic for your entertainment. Please join us for an incredible evening of middle eastern inspired dance at I-Candy!

July 31—Shimmyshowcase coordinator Jannah presents the perfect summer theme on this night--“Fun and Fantasy.” Dancers—here is your opportunity to really let your imagination run wild! We already have one “wild child”, Siraj, signed up to perform, and we’re sure there are more of you out there. If you would like to unleash your favorite fantasy, please contact us at Shimmyshowcase@gmail.com for a performance spot!

August 7 -- Saviya and the Shimmyshowcase team are pleased to welcome that ever-popular bellydance troupe JJ & the Habibis, led by the beautiful and delightful JJ! Please join us for an evening of incredible fun and great dancing or you’ll regret you missed it!
