Shimmyshowcase Status Update as of June 20, 2020.

Los Angeles County is currently in Phase 3 of a four phase re-opening plan.  Under Phase 3, dining establishments are permitted to resume indoor use by customers provided that the business owner demonstrates compliance with LA County mandated infection control protocols (physical distancing, face coverings, sanitation, etc.).  While individual dining is permitted, the latest Health Dept. order continues to prohibit “all events and gatherings” (specifically indoor gatherings).  This suggests that the earliest possible time when we can resume Shimmyshowcase in an indoor environment will be when this limitation is removed.

I communicated with Bela, Viento y Agua owner, who confirmed that he is still open, although business is still low.  He doesn’t see any possibility of Shimmyshowcase returning before September.  At that time he will also make a decision as to Viento y Agua’s future.

I will keep you informed as I learn more.  Until then, stay safe!
