SHIMMY SHOWCASE

Shimmyshowcase began in 2003 at Coffee Haven in Long Beach. In 2011 we moved to Viento y Agua Coffee House, where we danced every month until COVID-19 brought Shimmyshowcase at Viento y Agua to an end in March 2020. Our search for a new Shimmyshowcase venue yielded a generous offer from the owners of Babouch Moroccan Restaurant in San Pedro, CA! Shimmyshowcase made its spectacular debut at Babouch on Sunday, July 17, 2022 to a restaurant filled to capacity with a large crowd of enthusiastic Shimmyshowcase supporters, many of whom got up to dance with the performers in an impromptu grand finale to finish off a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Shimmyshowcase concluded an amazing, but all too short, run at Babouch when they closed in August, 2023. Shimmyshowcase returned to Long Beach on September 17, 2023 at Jade Restaurant, which was our home for another 31 months. Sadly, Jade closed on March 22, 2026, leaving Shimmyshowcase again in search of a new home. We remain optimistic that Shimmyshowcase will, once again, find a new home for our unique style of belly dancing. UPCOMING SHIMMYSHOWCASE EVENTS

SHIMMY SHOWCASE takes place on one Saturday each month at 6:30 p.m. at Viento y Agua Coffee House in Long Beach, CA at 4007 East 4^th Street; 562-434-1182.

August 19 – The gorgeous Christina Rizkallah and Safiyeh team up to host their first Shimmyshowcase featuring guest dancers Yasmin, Mandi, Yeril, Musa, Yasmeen el-Shaam, Kamar, Shaheen, and Audrey. With “Anything Goes” as the theme and a line-up jam packed with talent, you can bet that this will be a terrific show that you won’t want to miss! Be sure to join us at Viento y Agua Saturday, August 19th and prepare to be entertained!
