SHIMMY SHOWCASE

Shimmyshowcase began in 2003 at Coffee Haven in Long Beach. In 2011 we moved to Viento y Agua Coffee House, where we danced every month until COVID-19 brought Shimmyshowcase at Viento y Agua to an end in March 2020. Our search for a new Shimmyshowcase venue yielded a generous offer from the owners of Babouch Moroccan Restaurant in San Pedro, CA! Shimmyshowcase made its spectacular debut at Babouch on Sunday, July 17, 2022 to a restaurant filled to capacity with a large crowd of enthusiastic Shimmyshowcase supporters, many of whom got up to dance with the performers in an impromptu grand finale to finish off a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Shimmyshowcase concluded an amazing, but all too short, run at Babouch when they closed in August, 2023. Shimmyshowcase returned to Long Beach on September 17, 2023 at Jade Restaurant, which was our home for another 31 months. Sadly, Jade closed on March 22, 2026, leaving Shimmyshowcase again in search of a new home. We remain optimistic that Shimmyshowcase will, once again, find a new home for our unique style of belly dancing. UPCOMING SHIMMYSHOWCASE EVENTS

During 2015, SHIMMY SHOWCASE will take place on the third Saturday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at Viento y Agua Coffee House in Long Beach at 4007 East 4^th Street; 562-434-1182.

February 21– Photographing Fairies -- Special guest coordinator Katerina presents a peek into that Victorian era when everyone was talking about the fairies caught on film. Come photograph your own fairies! Victorian Photographers and Fairy guests receive a special treat, including door prizes for Queen Titania's favorite costumes. Creativity is encouraged in her realm. Many of her lovely fairies, of both the light and the dark variety, will be gracing Viento y Agua's stage on this crisp winter's eve.

Our Victorian hostess will guide explorers through fantastical adventures with Katerina, Saviya, Galadriel, Aleksia, Suzanna, Tailee, Circata, Strawberry Butterfly, and Leslie Ann Moore, author of A Tangle of Fates.
