SHIMMY SHOWCASE

Shimmyshowcase began in 2003 at Coffee Haven in Long Beach. In 2011 we moved to Viento y Agua Coffee House, where we danced every month until COVID-19 brought Shimmyshowcase at Viento y Agua to an end in March 2020. Our search for a new Shimmyshowcase venue yielded a generous offer from the owners of Babouch Moroccan Restaurant in San Pedro, CA! Shimmyshowcase made its spectacular debut at Babouch on Sunday, July 17, 2022 to a restaurant filled to capacity with a large crowd of enthusiastic Shimmyshowcase supporters, many of whom got up to dance with the performers in an impromptu grand finale to finish off a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Shimmyshowcase concluded an amazing, but all too short, run at Babouch when they closed in August, 2023. Shimmyshowcase returned to Long Beach on September 17, 2023 at Jade Restaurant, which was our home for another 31 months. Sadly, Jade closed on March 22, 2026, leaving Shimmyshowcase again in search of a new home. We remain optimistic that Shimmyshowcase will, once again, find a new home for our unique style of belly dancing. UPCOMING SHIMMYSHOWCASE EVENTS

SHIMMY SHOWCASE takes place once a month on scheduled Saturdays at 7:00 p.m. at Viento y Agua Coffee House in Long Beach at 4007 East 4^th Street; 562-434-1182.

June 21 -- Experience a “Victorian Fantasy” at Viento y Agua Coffee House as Saviya and Draca, with special guest Vincent Crummles (aka Ricky) set the stage for a magical evening of fabulous entertainment with phenomenal dancers Katerina, Galadriel, Meryem Vani, Tamara, Dimora, Devon, Aleksia, and Troupe MeLa. To make this this first evening of summer even more fanciful, dancer and author Katerina will personally autograph copies of her recently published fantasy novel, Elfkind, which you will also be able to purchase from her during this event! And finally, don’t forget the costume contest for which audience participation is highly encouraged! Whether it be steampunk, fairies, or romance, everyone is encouraged to come attired in their favorite Victorian fantasy garb. Plus, prizes made by guest judge Henry will be awarded to Best Proper Victorian Lady, Dapper Gentleman, Adventurer, Dastardly Villain and Steam Kid!

We’re expecting a large turnout for this event, so be sure to arrive a little early so you can pick up a nice beverage or treat and find a good seat because you won’t want to miss a minute of this entertainment-packed Shimmyshowcase! . .
